This lower unit of a duplex was a dark and fragmented two-bedroom apartment, built in the 1980's. The owners wanted a more open concept that felt more spacious. We could not expand the space due to city imposed limitations. By reconfiguring the interior and adding a large garage door to the patio, the living space expanded to the exterior and brought more light in. We also eliminated interior circulation, aka hallways, so every square foot was put into usable rooms. The result is an upscale residence that fits the market it's in and meets the lifestyle requirements of the clients.
