Like many Southern California houses build in the earlier half of the Twentieth Century, this house had a garage in the back corner of the property. These garages are rarely used for parking cars any longer since the driveways are narrow and inconvenient. Most times, these spaces are used as storage and block sight lines into the yard. This garage was transformed to include a 3/4 bath, office / gym space and a large covered patio. The patio has heating and lighting built into the ceiling, making it usable all year and at all times of day. Aside from these features, the visibility is greatly improved across the property, creating a larger-feel and less need to chase exploring toddlers.
